Staff Biographies

Levben Lamarr Parsons is a 2009 Astronomy BA graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he split his time studying the hard sciences and the arts, including Film and Creative Writing.

Additionally, he has served as the costume designer for several independent plays while at Cornell. He is currently an astrophysics educator at the American Museum of Natural History and a Masters in Science Education candidate at the Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City.

Wendy-Ann Diaz is an educator who holds a BA in History and Psychology from Florida State University, and an Associates of Arts degree from Tallahassee Community College.

She has been the recipient of numerous nominations and awards, most recently, the Rotary Club of St. Thomas II Teacher of the Year 2007-2008.

A prolific writer of many genres, Diaz's first publication is "Claude's Adventures"–a children's book. "A High Price for Justice" is her latest offering.

Rita Gonzalez A 2007 graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York with a Design and Technology BFA concentrating in animation and motion graphics.

Most recently, she has freelanced on various projects from editorial print to flash animation.

She currently leads up the animation program for the Tshwane After School Program in St. Thomas in addition to leading the animation team at Caripix.

Lindy Parsons is a finance professional with over 25 years of experience in financial management, accounting, and budgeting.

She received her B.S. degree in accounting and finance from Florida A & M University, and her MBA from the University of the Virgin Islands.

Having previously worked for the Virgin Island government in the capacity of Interim Chief Financial Officer for the Virgin Islands Housing Authority, she currently serves as the Business Manager for the St. Thomas/St. John Seventh-Day School in St. Thomas, VI.

Taj Siwatu: Having graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 2003 with a degree in culinary arts, Taj moved back to St. Thomas where he founded the musical production company We Don't Done. In addition to his passion for music, Taj is an avid chef and owns the successful restaurant Buddha Sushi in St. Thomas.
